CCHRC has served Cherokee County and the surrounding areas since 1960, offering three levels of service. We are a 185- bed skilled nursing facility, including an 17 private bed, short-term rehabilitation unit and a 40-bed Memory Care Unit. Together with Cherokee Village Independent Living Apartments and Specialty Care Assisted Living it makes us a Continuing Care Retirement Community.
Located near Weiss Lake in the heart of Cherokee County, the Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center has a well-trained, caring, and dedicated staff, with resident care being our top priority. CCHRC is also a short drive from Gadsden and Anniston Alabama as well as Rome Georgia.
Our skilled nursing facility specializes in wound care, rehabilitation, dementia care, pain management, hospice care, diabetic care, restorative programs, and much more.
Meeting the physical, medical and social needs of our residents and their families is a primary focus for our team.
At Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center, we realize the difficulties surrounding placing a loved one in a nursing care facility and how challenging it can be to find a quality rehab setting. We are always happy to answer any questions you or your family members may have.
The Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center accepts Medicare, Medicaid and private-pay, while the Rehab Center of Cherokee is a Medicare or other long-term care insurance coverage facility.

Skilled Nursing Facility is long-term nursing care for our residents who need medical / rehabilitative and restorative care. Long-term nursing care is probably the oldest, and most recognized, of all forms of senior care. Our long-term care is designed for seniors who require 24-hour nursing care, including medication administration, assistance with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), eating, and other personal care assistance.
The Rehab Center of Cherokee is a 17-bed Rehab Unit designed for those with short-term rehabilitation needs in an In-patient setting. All rehab rooms are private with their own bathrooms.
The Memory Care Unit is specially designed to provide the optimal environment for residents affected by the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. It's high ceiling, sky lights and circular indoor walking area are just a part of this unique design. CCHRC recognizes the unique needs of seniors with Alzheimer's disease and other related memory impairments. Our goal is to find ways to involve residents in everyday activities they enjoy in specially designed surroundings that are both safe and stimulating.
Cherokee Village is our 36-bed Specialty-Care Assisted-Living and 9-separate Independent Living Apartments.
Cherokee Village Assisted Living is not covered by state funds or federal entitlement programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid). We accept personal checks or LTC insurance coverage, if applicable. Please check with your carrier regarding coverage.
